WHAT TO VISIT?

The city of Lleida is dominated by a great fort in ruins; La Suda, wherein the interior is the old cathedral, or the “Seu Vella”. In this cathedral, constructed in the 12th century, only the magnificent gothic windows that were added at a later age remain. Coming down from the cathedral, one finds the Sant Joan plaza and following the pedestrian street one can admire the new cathedral and the lordly buildings like the Paeria, the reconstructed town hall from the 8th century.

Not very far from the city is the Poblet Monastery, surrounded by medieval walls. It has a splendid gothic library and with a baroque facade church by which it is necessary to mention its altarpiece.

Near to Poblet is situated Mont Blanc, in which medieval greatness pervades inside its walls and on the door of Sant Jordi, in which San Jorge appears killing the dragon.
